There’s got to be more to life . . .

I spoke with a friend earlier today – she’s very discouraged.  She’s had a lot on her plate lately & for the past year or so – deaths in the family, illnesses, broken bones in her own body, problems with pain – these things can cause you to become overloaded – your circuits just can’t handle anymore, nerves are raw & close to shattering, emotions spill over (not so good if you’re a very controlled person-keeping those emotions in check) – there comes a time when we all look towards heaven & cry ‘There’s got to be more to life than this!”  Pain, discouragement, loss, stress, depression, anger – these emotions & feelings are running rampant in the world, yes even the church world.  Why?  I think that it’s because when we have these feelings, we tend to wall ourselves off from others because we don’t want anyone to see us when we are weak & down.  The world actually needs to see us at these points in our lives so that they can see us respond, press in to God, praise Him for all of the good things in life – not just looking at the bad things that have happened or having a huge pity party because things are not just going the way that we think they should or that we find that we really are not in control – IT IS GOD WHO IS IN CONTROL!  We need to let Him have control of everything in our lives.  “Casting ALL your cares on Him for He cares for you!”  We need to be constantly aware of the fact that “we wrestle not against flesh & blood but against principalities & powers of the air!”  We are in spiritual warfare!  We cant afford to let our guard down!  We can’t afford to cut ourselves off from those who care for us, who love us, our brothers & sisters in Christ.  Satan is using all sorts of things to get us off track & to loose sight of the finish line.  The sad part is that he’s using fellow Christians, those who should know better, those who should be grown up & mature in Christ.  We need to stand united – pressing in to God the author & finisher of our faith – we need to be banning together & strengthing our hold & not caving in to the pressures from without – “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all surpassing power is from God & not from us.  We are hard pressed on eveyr side, but not crushed, perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted but not abandoned, struck down, but not destroyed.” II Corinthians 4:7-9  There is so much more to life than what we see with our naked eyes!  As Paul says in Philippians 3:12-14 “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that which Christ Jesus took hold of me . . . But one thing I do: Forgetting what is bgehind & straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me homeward in Christ Jesus.”  Yes there is more to life than this – there is heaven & seeing our heavenly father & our savior face to face!

Yada Yada Yadah

I suppose you are all wondering why I choose this name/title for my site.  Well it’s for several reasons.  First off when someone doesn’t want to elaberate or explain soemthing fully they always say “yada, yada, yada.”  It’s either that or “Blah, Blah, Blah”  I like the sound of yada, yada, yada much better.  Secondly, I read a book entitled “The YadaYada Prayer Group”.  I really fell in love with the story line & the characters involved were easy to identify with.  That’s my story & I’m going to stick to it!  More later!

There’s more to life!

God works in mysterious ways!  How many times have we used that phrase or had someone quote it to us?  God definitely has different ways to speak to us.  I’ve known Him to allow things to happen to someone so that he can get our attention.  Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe that God Has “bad” things happen to us.  We live in a fallen world that’s full of sin & temptations.  We need to clean our ears so that we can hear clearly what God is trying to tell us.  I firmly believe that hearing & obeying God’s voice will someday mean the difference between life & death.  Yet we are all typical ”kids”.  We are constantly asking “Why?”, “What for?”, “Becasue why?”  We’ve all heard our children & grandchildren say these things.  God requires us to be obedient to His Word.  “Rejoice in the Lord always & again I say rejoice.”  How we respond to to things that come our way in life speaks volumes to those around us.
